The IOS Pipe Stabilizing Arm (PSA) is a remotely operated electric-hydraulic device, used to stabilize the top end of casing and tubing joints being connected and made up at the drill floor level. The PSA is mounted above the drill floor at a working height of approximately 35 ft. It has a unique mechanical memory system that allows it to return to its previous operating position when deployed for consecutive joints being delivered to well center.
The PSA works with tubular sizes from 2 7/8” to 26”, without any manual adjustments or component change-outs.
It is produced to a very high specification for frequent use in demanding environments. Under normal operating conditions, the equipment maintenance requirements will be minimal.
